Racer's Ride: Luke Clout's 2014 Serco Yamaha YZ250F

An up-close look at the MX Nationals MX2 red plate holder.

Serco Yamaha’s Luke Clout is leading the 2014 MX2 MX Nationals Championship aboard the brand new YZ250F. Power gains are made via a ported cylinder head, high compression piston, airbox modifications, a Yoshimura exhaust system, as well as fuel and ignition adjustments. For Clout, a bike that revs high using a lot of RPM is his preference engine-wise. Hinson clutch components are fitted, while Pro Taper chains and sprockets are used. The KYB suspension is revalved and set in house and features DLC coated fork legs, while you’ll also find X-Trig triple clamps and a rear pre-load adjuster. Other additions are a variety of SPP parts sprinkled throughout, Pro Taper handlebars (set low to Clout’s liking) and grips, Factory Effex seat cover, Serco Custom MX Decals, Pirelli tyres, black Excel Rims, GYTR brake discs (oversized front) and a GYTR bash plate.
