Multiple-time Australian Off-Road Champion Chris Hollis’ championship chances took a severe hit at last weekend’s Boyland round of the Yamaha AORC series.

Hollis finished an uncharacteristic 14th on Saturday following a major crash, before he managed to salvage fifth on Sunday. He’s now sixth Outright despite the troublesome round.

In the hotly-contested E2 ranks Hollis was seventh on Saturday and fourth on Sunday, enabling him to maintain second in the standings.

“It wasn’t my best weekend,” Hollis commented. “I took a pretty big digger on Saturday morning and lost a bunch of time and in this style of racing it is next to impossible to make up.

“Sunday was better, but still not great. I clawed back a few points and managed to maintain my position in class, but with a two-week break before rounds five and six I hope to can get back to 100 percent and ensure I’m ready to go.”
