Australia’s current MAXXIS Enduro Junior World Champion Matthew Phillips finished on the podium during both days during round two of the 2014 season at Vale de Cambra, Portugal, over the weekend.

Phillips rode his factory KTM 300 EXC to second on Saturday behind teammate Ivan Cervantes, before he was third on Sunday, which was again won by Cervantes over Matti Seistola.

The result sees Phillips sitting second in the standings, 16 points behind Cervantes in an impressive start to his senior world championship campaign.

In E1 at Vale de Cambra it was Christophe Nambotin who claimed victory on both days, extending his world championship lead to 20 points from Eero Remes and Cristobal Guerrero, who were second and third both days in Portugal.

The hotly-contested E2 category saw Antoine Meo sweep proceedings, as Pierre Alexandre Renet and Alex Salvini completed the podium on both occasions. Meo now has an eight-point advantage in the series.

Greece will next host round three of the 2014 EWC season at Kalambaka on 10-11 May.
