Daryl Beattie launches outback adventure company

Six-day Simpson Desert tour to commence in March.

Grand prix road racing legend Daryl Beattie is offering riders an unforgettable opportunity to join him on a Daryl Beattie Adventure onboard a Honda CRF450X through the breathtaking Australian outback.

With the first Beattie tour, a six-day ride crossing the spectacular Simpson Desert, kicking off on 27 March, other tours in 2014 include shadowing the Finke Desert Race, a Western Australian desert to coast ride and a Cape York adventure.

Ideal for competent riders looking for some adventure, each trip through the Australian outback will be complete with catered meals, comfortable swags and hot showers. A fully equipped, goanywhere Unimog will be at every stopover with personal luggage, kitchen facilities, bedding, fuel and spares.

Honda’s highly respected CRF450X – a regular star in the infamous Australasian Safari and Finke Desert Rally – will be available for those without their own adventure machine. Beattie has fitted his brand new Honda CRF450Xs with special 21-litre endurance fuel tanks, Michelin all-terrain tyres and other small mods.

A serious dirt-bike rider before and after his GP career, Beattie has hand-picked every route and will personally lead each adventure. For Beattie, the decision to start Daryl Beattie Adventures was simple.

“I have spent many years in the outback,” he said. “This is a personal passion and something I want to share with others. It was an obvious choice to opt for Honda’s CRF450X. Honda is renowned for its reliability in the bush and that was a key factor when deciding on the CRF450X. We will tackle some of the harshest tracks in outback Australia.”
