The team is confirmed, Reed, Metcalfe and Moss as expected!

Great news, with Marmont the 450 reserve and Ferris the 250 reserve.

Can they really get on the podium?. I reckon they can if luck FINALLY is on their side.

Is it the BEST team ever we've had for Australia? So hard to say, especially the teams of Reed, Sharky and Byrner in the past.

Haha, yeah I do remember that team got the best result. Hopefully the bad luck we've had in recent years is gone for 2011.

Team races are so tough. You need decent starts, stay out of trouble and have some luck. Any crashes or DNFs make it near impossible to podium, unless you have a Ricky Carmichael type freakish guy who can go 1-1.

A Reed/Metty/Moss team should go close though!

I think Reedy and Metty will be consistant enough to get us close enough for a podium, but the MX2 class is so tuff, if we can get Mossy there fully fit and for him to bring his A-game, he'll get it done. Wrap him in cotton wool!!!

Cotton wool, covered in bubble wrap, swathed in goose down, sheathed in marshmallows, swaddled in fairy floss, and encased in an iron box.

The quality of bike makes a big diff in the MX2 class - especially with their restrictive fuel / sound rules. KTM no doubt has this class covered so hopefully Matt can score a Roczen/Herlings spec motor. Metty and Reed should have no drama's in that area with factory support on their 450"s.

Team AUS - kill it !!!

Seeing as how Matt Moss has just landed in the States, should JDR let him contest the last three AMA Nationals as a fill-in rider for the injured PJ Larsen?

That would be great to see how he goes, but you wouldn't want him to do any damage to himself prior to MXoN when there is no championships at stake!

Agreed; however, it'd be great practice ahead of the MXdN.

Yeah true, and as we've seen this year, you don't need to be racing to get hurt - just ask Andrew Short.

You would have to think that is a realistic plan for JDR seeing as his contract now has him racing there next year and PJ is out for the year. But stranger things have happened.

You know, Oldmate's apparent silence on this matter leads me to believe that our conjecture might be pretty close to being right on the money.

So, Oldmate, will you confirm or deny that Matt will ride the last three AMA Nationals?

He might not have logged in last night or today, give him time haha. But, I am trying to get in contact with those who would know for a story. No luck so far, but it's coming.

I'd rather him not race until the MXoN's, he's the kind of racer to give it everything everytime he races whether he ends up in plaster at the end or not, also he will have a point to prove after last year over there so he'll want to give it 3000%. We just need to be patiant and wait until next year to see him race fulltime in the AMA injury free (knock on wood).

A confident, injury free Matt Moss will, if not go close to win titles over there IMO

Well, I guess that's that, then. The US-JDR team will be gathering no Moss for any of the last three rounds of the AMA Nationals.

I have mixed emotions about this.

Yep, here's the full story with the info we could get from the team:

http://www.motoonline.com.au/2011/08/23/moss-unlikely-to-replace-larsen-at-jdrj-starktm-in-final-ama-rounds/

You never know though, they might change their mind later. We'll keep an eye on it either way!

Lets hope they do change their minds. Maybe they want Mossy's speed to be a surprise for next season.
