Motorcycling Australia has confirmed that Chad Reed will spearhead Team Australia’s Motocross of Nations squad alongside Brett Metcalfe and Matt Moss in St Jean d’ Angely, France, on 18 September.

Reed will lead the team in the MX1 class on his TwoTwo Motorsports Honda CRF450R, while Metcalfe will ride the MX3 (Open) category aboard his Rockstar Makita Suzuki RM-Z450.

Rounding out the star-studded team in the MX2 (250cc) class will be two-time Australian Motocross Pro Lites Champion Matt Moss.

Last year’s Team Australia MXoN rider Dean Ferris has been confirmed as the team’s MX2 reserve rider, expected to travel to the event with Team Australia in France next month.

Reserve for the 450cc class will be four-time MX Nationals champion Jay Marmont, who represented Australia in the place of Reed last year in the U.S.

The 2011 FIM MXoN takes place on 18 September 2011 in St Jean d’Angely, France.
