GYTR Rockstar Yamaha young gun Harley Quinlan has been seriously injured in a crash while practice for the Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship.

The 19-year-old suffered damage to his spinal cord in an incident while practicing at Robbie Marshall’s track in Queensland at around lunch time on Tuesday, however the extend of the injuries are unconfirmed at this point.

GYTR Rockstar Yamaha development team manager Scott Bishop confirmed the news to MotoOnline.com.au this morning, advising that Quinlan will undergo surgery this morning at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Quinlan has been a revelation as a rookie in Super X during 2010, sitting sixth in the Pro Lites standings after three rounds. A strong third in the Under 19s class of the MX Nationals was also highlighted with victory at the season finale at Coolum in July.

MotoOnline.com.au sends our well wishes to Quinlan, his family and the entire Yamaha team.
