So what did you guys think?. Survival format is always a good one for the fans, not so good for teams and riders I'd say. You would have to say having no whoops made the racing closer too... we'll miss guys like Brayton and Windham when they're gone, but I reckon JM2 is only going to get stronger from here.

Yeah Marmont will come on and Reardon has a point to prove also. Will be hard to head off Hansen tho. I've been really disappointed with Alessi - i thought he would be a contender, but when the big races are on he is not up to speed. All in all it has been a good series to watch so far despite the weather.

The track looked awesome from a spectators point of view, and the racing was fun to watch but the elimination format really made for only one 'real' 8 lap race at the end after essentially a whole bunch of heats.

I difinatley think marmount will be a man on a mission in the next few rounds. Along with reardon will surely be looking to find some form after not being on the podium as yet.
What do u guys reckon has the KTM350 showing promise or is it being out gunned by the 450's. I see dmc65 changed back to a 450?

OZ vs Septics was the best racing I've seen for a while. Whoever matched the riders up did a great job and this beats the man on man heats by a mile. Track looked great as well - who needs whoops ??
Wondering about that 350 too Ash....

I dont think there will be many KTM350s running in the AMA SX based on what we are seeing.

And dont tell me Ricky you dont like kreeps either. I dont think so either, I dont think their weight advantage is as big as people originally thought & they dont seem to have the punch of the corners as the 450's so when they r in traffic line choice is restricted.

From what I can see, the 350 gets around with good lap times, but the short formats in Super X make it tough if they don't get the start.
In saying that, during last weekend's Eliminator Challenge in Tasmania, Simmonds got the holeshot over Moss and Alessi did over Brayton, so they looked pretty good off the line there...
It's a deep field with heaps of good riders and Simmonds is still the second highest full time Aussie regular in the series behind Marmont and only 10 points off Reardon, so it's not like he is doing particularly bad on the 350. With Brayton and Windham leaving, he'll be boosted to fourth in the series which is good for an 18-year-old I reckon!

I have seen the lap times and they can be done. As they can be done by some on a 250f. What I noticed is the guys riding a 350 seem to need some clear track to get the good lap times. But when battling with the 450's that drop some mid corner speed and vary the entry & exits on the turns where as the 350 seems to need a wider flowing track
to maintain momentum for their lap times. Take nothing away from Tye he is riding great and this couldnt be a better warm up for his season 2011 in the US. I reckon it has been great for the Aussie riders having Brayton Hasen Windham & Alessi here to compete against, it's also been great from a fans seat in the stands.

I reckon you're pretty close to the money there Ash, just different riding styles needed between the 350 and 450 and that makes it hard for them on track together.
Will miss Brayton and K-Dub out here, that's for sure. Have also been missing Reedy a bit, but it's good not having the focus all on the one main guy as well. Should be a good series!

As much as we are missing Reedy on the track I think in a way its good for SuperX to be drawing the crowds with out him. Bcoz if it was all Reed hype keeping SuperX tickets selling GAS would be in serious trouble in the next couple of years when Chad hangs up his boots.
I reckon the Aussie guys will start to hit their stride thru Parramatta and Brisbane as long as the weather stays good.

I would have thought the 350 was a great vet class bike. Until I got my CRF450, which is light and very easy to ride. So now I think you get the extra 100cc and not a lot of difficulty late in the race - why not have it?

Theres only a 3kg difference between the crf450r and the ktm 350. You would think that the top riders would be extremely fit so surely for them holding onto a 450 by the end of the moto wouldnt be as hard as say a B grade rider in a 20 minute moto.If you guys are catching what im throwing

@Dan*297* Excatly what I am talking about. The 350 weight advantage isnt as big a deal as some would have us believe at the top level. Sure am keen to line up against one at my local mx club day and see how they go. Back in 2001 when we were racing in the Aussie mx tittles.Guys on 250f had to race with 250 2 strokes and 426's and KTM's up to 570 i think Ando's was. And some of them did alright and probally had more fun but nobody came close to winning a race.

Someone might have to ride one at the next lakes club day ash
McCoy changed back to a 450 because it suits his riding style better. McCoy loved the 350 and still rates it as the best race bike he has had in his whole carrea

T it up damo heard u might be in the know!! It might be the most enjoyable bike to ride under the sun, I wouldn't know having not riden 1. Just calling as I see it & I haven't seen bike show the advantage people proclaimed it would have. Tye & DMC have riden it well but I don't believe it works as well as KTM have hoped. And I think it's more to do with them having to race a different line & a smaller line than the 450's
