GUYS,
Heard some great news.Factory honda will be back in asbk in 2011.Paul free will bve running the team. Not sure where this leaves the big red italian twins for 2011.If they are not in does this mean 2011 will be a honda/suzuki benefit. Maybe all the ducati money is in valentinos pocket.

Why would Ducati invest all that money to go racing for just one season where you wouldn't really have expected immediate results while the riders and team are getting to know the bike?

Did Ducati invest much into it though? To me it looked like a Motologic operation with minimal support from Ducati. The bikes are for sale at $47,000 each, so I'm guessing this confirms they won't be with Ducati next year... unless they're getting all new bikes!

If Honda get back into it, my money is on them to clean house in 2011.
There will be a MASSIVE effort to re-establish themselves as the #1 factory team.

Top three guys in the series as non-factory bikes could be called cleaning house too... haha. Obviously Josh has been injured for Suzuki, but still a solid year for the Blade in ASBK so far!

We can't forget that Honda nor Motologic have officially confirmed anything yet, so a lot of this is all speculation. The question is, will we see KTM or Aprilia back in 2011? Some people are saying we won't.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. I would think that neither have really obtained the results they had hoped for, and not for lack of trying, particularly on the KTM team I would say. My money is on lots more BMW's out there next year after Coxhell's form against the factory boys on a SS machine.Posts: 352

Let's hope it's all go for an official Honda team entry into next years series. It just sounds silly that the biggest motorcycle manufacturer is supporting a race team. Not that the boys havent kept the Honda flag flying, one would have thought with the nature of Ducati's bike business that they would be pulling out completely. I can understand ktm and aprillia weighing up units sold vs costs of racing domestically. Let's hope they r in the mix in some way

I wonder how many people will take a stab at the new ZX10?

I've heard of a few looking at it. Actually, now that I think of it, one of the most common questions I'm asked is whether or not Kawasaki is running a factory ZX-10R in ASBK next year! I reckon there will be a team if an outsourced effort has a structure that Kawasaki is happy with.

There is another train of thought that Kawasaki will roll out a supported team in FX. I guess its that time of year when everyone is talking to everyone else.Regardless, I hope Kawasaki return to Road Racing in Australia in some form.

uhm, "someone" recently tested a Kawasaki ZX10 in Europe recently, didn't they? What team is he from, what rumours are there about them next year? There's another piece to throw into the puzzle pile ! ;+)

I reckon Staring is actually looking for a ride OS, not a Kawasaki gig in OZ.
However, if there is nothing available in Europe (or maybe the US of A) he may end up on a Kwaka here.
Perhaps the ASBK promoter may start a team with this manufacturer to ensure its envolvement (not taking a shot here, just speculating).

I couldn't see the Cougar team switching to Kawasaki in road racing when Yarrive runs the factory Honda motocross team - no way that will happen.
If Michelle Piro signs for Gresini Honda in Moto2, Staring will likely have an offer from the Pedercini Kawasaki team in WSBK or Superstock (it's not decided what class from what I'm told). Pedercini has the budget for one rider and the second rider has to pay. If Piro goes Moto2, then Staring is the rider who Pedercini wants as the team's main guy and he won't have to take any funding to the team.
By the way, that's direct from the team in Italy, not from Staring or anybody in Australia.

Fingers crossed for Staring then, it would be great to see another Aussie doing his thing in the big show.

I'm pretty certain the mx team is good to go for next year.
Also, spoke to Bryan yesterday and he said he has another ride in Europe that he's still hoping for.
