Dual Supercross AMA and World Champion Chad Reed has been linked to high profile telecommunications company Vodafone for the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, season opener to be held in Newcastle on 16 October.

Reed revealed last week that he will contest the event in his comeback outing after being struck with Epstein Barr virus, however an unnamed partnership was hinted in the announcement by Australian public relations company Fluid PR.

“Currently free of any commitment to motorcycle manufacturers, Reed has partnered with a blue-chip global brand to appear at Energy Australia Stadium and will debut his unique race machine in the week leading up to the event,” the release stated.

American-based sources have since revealed to MotoOnline.com.au that Reed will be sporting Vodafone branding for the event, most likely aboard a privately prepared Honda CRF450R if speculation from the States proves correct.

Fluid PR is also the press agency for the TeamVodafone V8 Supercars effort, with Reed previously completing a V8 test with the championship-winning operation in a deal arranged by Fluid.

Yet to be confirmed by Reed’s management, it’s expected that he will debut his all-new effort this week during final preparations for the Newcastle event, his hometown round on the Super X calendar for 2010.
