So who went and what did you guys think??. Racing was unreal and the extra off-track activity certainly added to the buzz at the event in my opinion. Congrats to all the newly crowned champions!

I am sooooo upset that I missed it,...bums me out.
By the look of the results sheets though it was an amazing weekend.
Where was Hollywood on the sheets, did he crash. Is he ok?
The BMW looks to be going great with fifth in Qual and some good race results for Cocko and Cole.
Suzuki must be asking them selves the question, "should we get another front running rider". with their rider pairing of Buggers and Giles not being able to do the job, maybe get Shannon on the gixer because he needs a good ride IMO.
Great to see Jamie and the fabo Ducati of the box,..yippeee!
Staring is simply the best out there at the moment though, shame Maxwell couldn't fight with him a bit more, must be hard to be the private Gas Honda rider watching the newly formed factory Honda ride away from you.
Fantastic to see Curtain on the big step and beating the dominate Suzuki in the 600s,.....wish I was there to see it.

I didn't go but I just read the Aluma lite press release about pulling out of the championship.

to quote as it is written "It is not as if we are giving up racing. Far from it, as everyone knows the passion I have for the sport but at this point in time we are leaving the Australian Superbike Championships. We will weigh our options but we do hope the ASBK can return to the position it once was but in our opinion some of the priorities have been lost and in this climate with a viable alternative now a serious consideration there is plenty of competition."

What happened up there that a 2 rider team team pulls out before the season ends????
This will make the superbike grid even smaller, not good considering the next couple of rounds are with the V8's.

I'm working on a story on that at the moment ZXR, but you will find that press release was distributed before the Queensland event.

On a different topic, it's funny though in road racing that when things seem to go fairly smoothly and there's good racing, nobody really comments. But when there are a few issues like in the AFXC at Eastern Creek last time out or in previous ASBK events, people are more than happy to jump up and down with heaps of comments.

Thanks for your comments Pen, refreshing to see a bit of chat about the race action even if you were unlucky to miss it lol. Staring truly is on the gas, but don't rule out Max before the Island and Tassie though! He's a weapon around those tracks.

Also ZXR, I wasn't directing what I said above at your comments as you made a very good and valid point mate, just pointing out in general how quiet the message boards both here and on other sites have been despite a round of the Superbikes just taking place!

I thought it was a pretty good event all in all.... bad luck for Jordy to wipe out in QP.
FMX show was pretty good... except for the first jump when the poor bastard flat landed and crashed big time.... missed the down ramp by about 10 metres I think....
Aussie Racing Cars put on a good show....
Supersport was great seeing the old bastard get up on Herfoss... just wasnt Troys weekend I guess.
Superbikes were a little processional.
Good weather (as usual) and the crowd got behind it pretty good.

No offense taken, I'm not interested in bagging anyone out, just would like to know why a team with that experience has pulled out.
I'm sure all the classes put on a great display, I saw some times over the weekend and it looks like Casella had a fantastic weekend along with Curtain.

I had a great weekend at QR. I was racing in the superstock 1000 c&d class and sometimes missed some of the racing and on track action.
The crowd really got behind it as well.
Yarrive and his crew did a great job organising the round.
