Highway Performance Bikes Off Road Team – Press Release – 4/08/10

This weekend the Highway Performance Bikes Off Road Team will make it’s longest trip of the AORC season to Kapunda in South Australia. This is the second time the AORC has made a stop in South Australia.

For this round the Highway Performance Bikes Off Road Team is again hoping for good conditions and hoping the miserable weather that has seemed to follow the AORC this season like the plague will finally stay away.

David Hogan #517 has had some consistent performances in clubman E2/3 but overall felt he has struggled with some miss timed crashes or unfortunate lines choices in the very muddy rounds that have preceded this weekend, “I haven’t been doing all that bad, I just fell I have more speed than I have shown and I have just not done well in the bad conditions of late” said David.

Jennifer Blackwood #771 riding in the championship Women's class is finding out how tough enduro’s can be especially in such wet and muddy conditions, “It just seems like I have been spending more time washing the bike and my gear than I have spent riding it this season. Nearly every event the team has done this season has been wet” said Jennifer.

As bad as the conditions have been both of the Highway Performance Bikes Off Road Team KTM machines have performed extremely well in conditions that would spell the end of most bikes. A combination of our use of Panolin oils and Liquid intelligence 115 coolant has managed to keep our bikes on song all season. Whilst our Michelin tyres and Teknik prepared suspension has keep us upright and driving through the water logged wheel deep ruts.

Last seasons South Australian round saw hundred’s of spectator’s lining the course and the Highway Performance Bike’s Off Road Team hopes the local will again show their support for the team and the series. Gates at the Kapunda property (located 6km’s south of Kapunda on the Kapunda-Greenock Rd) will open to the public at 9am August 7th and 8th. Admission is just $5.00/adult, children under 14 are Free.

The Highway Performance Bikes Off Road Team would like to thank its sponsors, Highway Performance Bikes, KTM, AXO, Panolin Oils, Michelin, EBC Brakes, Stomp Grip, Go Chain Wax, Liquid Intelligence, Hogan Racing Radiator Guards, Mick Dyer Motorcycles, Teknik Motorsport, Scott Goggles, Pivot Pegz, BarkBusters, Hammerhead, 751 products, Tokyomods, Mainmoto imports, Kelly enduro products and Ringmaster Images.
