Hi all,
You would have noticed an email notification overnight saying that you got a private message on MotoOnline (most likely from 'baby200). Please ignore and delete this private message immediately. As with all spam email/messages, they have asked you to contact them directly to their email address – DO NOT DO THIS under any circumstance.
But don't worry, it is just a fishing attempt, and they don't have access to any of your details, email or anything else. The email that you would have received to your email address is our automated system direct from MotoOnline that's simply in place to inform you that you have a private message on MotoOnline.
We apologise for any inconvenience and do our best to filter these spammers on a regular basis – sorry!

Ah, okay thanks for that zxr! It must have done that because we have deleted this baby200 character from the system.
What you mean is that it still says you have a private message, however when you get in there it doesn't exist, right?
I'll get my web guys on to it and they should be able to remove the notification.

I only just opened my email and received this message and have spent ages trying to find it in my inbox
then i just came across this post.

It seems to have hot us again overnight, this time with a comment on your pages from 'baby4real'.
Again, don't reply to this person or email them no matter what, it's just phishing spam searching to gain more email addresses.
We can assure you that these spammers don't have any of your details, email or anything in between, you are simply getting the email notifications from the MotoOnline system to notify you that you have a new message/comment on your iMoto page - you would get these whether it's a spammer or a friend contacting you via your page on here.
I have a few ideas that I'm running by my website developers to put an end to these spammers, but it does make it tricky when they are manually joining up as members and then commenting on all pages one by one over a four hour period or so! They are not spambots apparently...

If it was that easy to stop it then I guess it wouldn't have happened a second time Pen! The thing is like I said, they are signing up manually and going through the whole membership process with real working email addresses so until they strike with the spam then it's hard to tell for sure. We are working on ways to stop the nuisance though as receiving this junk is just not on! My apologies to all once again.

Our way of solving this problem in the meantime before we rule them out from doing it altogether is by turning off the email notifications for when somebody sends you a private message or comments on your profile page. This will at least stop the spam from entering your inbox and annoying you if it does happen again, but we are hopeful it won't!
However, keep in mind that you will still be notified via email if a user replies to a thread you're involved in (which can be turned off in your profile settings). Thanks again for your patience in this and I can assure you that your privacy is all safe within our system and there is absolutely no way the spammers can gain access to it.
