I was talking to Gilesy about it and he said that even though he's raced there before he doesn't think it will be a real advantage, I guess pretty much because all the riders learn tracks and adapt so quickly with the good equipment on offer these days. You don't have to change the bike settings too much to get it on pace at different circuits if you have a good base setting.
It's only a short lap aswell so you get more laps in to learn it.
It's not bad for passing opportunities but it's fairly narrow and flowing so there's not a big choice of lines.
I've raced Allerton a bit around there on the V8 game lol. Either way. pretty sure ESG KTM, Valvoline SBK Team and Suzuki will be testing there at least the week before - not sure who else. We'll have to wait for conformation. The Ducati boys are testing at Winton tomorrow!
Hi Alex,
ESG is testing with both of its teams at Hidden Valley and we invited a few of my friends to join us. We will be spending part of each day working with the local media and VIP's to help promote spectator numbers for the race the following week. Almost all the team members will be staing in Darwin to both get acclimatised as well as doing futher promotional work both for the teams and the series in general.
We are of the opinion that we are all from riders, team members, team owners, promotors and licencing bodies, responsible for the health and well being of our sport, to that end we are going to be on the road taking the race teams to the public in the hope that this will greatly increase the numbers of public that come to the race meetings.
We are also very keen to get the retail industry back involved and will be visiting as many dealerships as posible during the year.
Those of us that can't get to the race track this year will opefully be given a chance to see the bikes and riders up close at a bike shop nearest them.
Lastly we have two, two up promotional bikes one form KTM Superbike Team and one from Valvoline Superbike Team. We will be taking them up for the test and round. Do you think yo could run a competition for one of your readers, if up in Darwin and fits the health limit, to be given a chance to experience a ride of a lifetime?

Nice work Greg and team, awesome! Can certainly look at a competition for the two-seaters, although I'm not sure how many readers from the NT we have at the moment lol.
Hi Alex,
Last year I flew my family up to QLD just for Carmine my wife to have a two up ride with Yamaha and a few laps thrown in with Craig Lownes in his Falcon. I think that lots of people would fly up and combine a look around with the experience of 280km/h down the straight on a Australian Superbike, we could host a couple in our pit area, either for our test or even the race weekend.
The aim is to get fans to combine the racing with a holiday in NT, I bought the Yamaha two up ride at the Reece Bancell dinner for $900 and thought it great value, both of the winners flew to QLD for the ride and paid for the flights.
If no one else wants the experience then toss a coin between SnowyCBR and TDP020.
Hi Everyone,
We have a available seat on a two up bike either during our test or on race weekend. The ASBK is providing a free ticket per two up ride and ESG will look after you at either event.
Alex is very busy so lets keep this simple.
Who is available to get themselves to Darwin either Monday, Tuesday ar Wednesday next week or over the race weekend in April?
Being part of how a factory team test is very rewarding to racing fans and the racing we all know is world class.
We will do a ride at each if we have available interested fans.
Write in 30 words or less how we can improve the spectator numbers at race meets, you must be available and willing to get your self to Darwin, we will supply safety gear at Hidden Valley.
We will anounce the test winner on this site Sunday morning and the race weekend winner Good Friday.
Good Luck
Greg
Hi Jordy,
Retired from the ASBK only.
With my personal KTM RC8R have only spent a couple of days on so far, but so much quicker through turns 2 to 8 at Eastern Creek.
I am staying away from racing with the control tyres and having a hit out at round 1 of St George's club Championships at Wakefield on the 18th April. With some Ntecs onboard i plan on improving on my PB's.
If i get my way I'll join Trent Gibson and David Anthony and do the support races at Laguna Seca in July for the US GP.
It is a lot less work riding then working behind the scenes. I am looking forward to some track time at Hidden Valley next week and blowing out the cobwebs.
Good luck in the race.
Greg
