Who will be the 2010 ASBK Champion?

Posted: 02 Feb 2010 | By: AG23 | Section: Road Chat | Replies: 37

We've put a new poll up today in the sidebar!

Who be the the 2010 ASBK champion??? Post your vote and then tell us why here…

We only have space for four riders, however there are more in the mix that could potentially win it including Johnson, Giles, Budgen and more.

The way I selected the four is that Stauffer, Allerton and Waters are the most recent champions, while Maxwell was right in with a shot at it until his massive off last year at the season finale.

Get voting!

I picked Josh Waters because I've got no idea and took a wild guess!!!

I would have picked the BONER if he was on the list LOL

Josh coz he did it last year under extreme pressure and it looks like the competition is a bit thinner in '10 (mind you, if Giles and Buggers did not slow to let him get points at Malalla last year he would not have won the No 1 plate).

Both Honda boys will be strong, but will they be as strong as '09?

I reckon Jamie will be hot and cold as the bike will be under development most of the season, but the Duke may just look after it rubber well. I reckon he will win races, but not the championship.

I expect Dan to be somwhere deep behind these guy on the Aprillia with Cocko just infront of him on the BMW (TBC)

The big question mark for me is SJ of the KTM, are they for real or just another pretender?

Josh Waters for sure with Staufer 2nd, Josh is on the same bike with the same team only difference is the tires.
The boy is young and keen.
Can't wait to see if I am correct or not.

Waters or giles as tainton has had extra time to set the suzuki's up to the new tyres and rules to keep the gsx-r at the top of the speed traps, its not what u know any more.Wonder who will b the first to bark when the ducati's deliver the goods?

hahaha. the BONE don't race. The bone Flies through the sky like no other guy.

BONE watches ASBK fromt he sidelines and tunes the grid girls and offers them a freestyle rap and asks em if they wanna share a tinnie or two.

I voted Glenn ,he is on familier machinery and he has freedom to set the bike up the way he wants it.He will be more determined than ever to get the no 1 plate back. The bike certianly wont suffer any electrical fault to hold him back.I am sure Josh will be up there aswell but it is alot harder defending than winning. I think Jamie will struggle on the ducati ,unless the bike is perfect he will continue with his poor form from last year........This year will be great and hopefully next year the rest of the japs will get back onboard.

Ive cranked up the crystal ball and..........I'll tip Waters to double up this year and then head overseas next year. Allerton to show how privateers do it (again!!) by coming a close 2nd (only to be asked again to join a factory effort in 2011).... just in front of Maxwell on the Winzer rocket........while YRT collect the trophies somewhere else!!!!!!

Oh..... and BONE wins best overall contribution to AG's growing forum

The only problem I see with the duck are the inlets ducts on he fairing are pretty small, I was having a good look at them the other day, this may hurt there top end a bit. Might make them feel like a Yamaha.................:)
At this level you can give away a thing.

dont rule dan out yet......the new aprilias are a sweet ride. he also has a piont to prove after not his best year, on a bike that didnt perform so well in 2009
dan has teamed up with his old boss steve trinder, and between them i think they can do very well

This has been rumoured for a number of days now, however I hadn't yet broken the news. Now that it's public knowledge, here is what we know: www.motoonline.com.au/2010/02/05/asbk-staring-to-make-dramatic-return-to-honda-and-asbk

aprilias will be at the island for 15th-16th test

TDP020.....the aprilias supplied are not part of the recalled numbers......Aprilia are replacing all (complete) engines in the limited number of bikes effected by a outside suppliers faulty parts. they will be fast at the island. Test days have been run at QLD with absolutely no problems

Mickyd, I'm just poking fun mate. LOVE the Aprilia!! Wish I could justify having one as a track bike...............
Look forward to seeing them on the 15th!
