Posted: 26 Dec 2009 | By: Alex Gobert | Section: Dirt Chat | Replies: 152

Anybody got this game yet??? I got it on PS3 and man it's hard to get used to at first, but is so real for a video game.

Here's a preview for it from those who may not have seen it yet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrblPGVs3zQ

Love it!

It is great once you get a hang of the controls, You jumped online yet. So Much fun to be had. will be great when the updates start coming out. A few more tracks would be good.

Alex Gobert 8:34 pm December 27th 2009

Nah Az, haven’t been online with it yet! Play any good? What track is your favourite one in Supercross? I haven’t played heaps yet, just starting Supercross Series 2 in career mode. What level you play on now?

DOOVA930 9:28 pm December 27th 2009

Yeh Santa left a copy with a PS3 at my house, its really hard to get used too and really frustrating but the more I play it the more I like it, I played Aaryn last night online and smoked him LOL nah lets just say I need to find about 20sec a lap at SX!!! LOL.. I was pretty happy I won a few online races today though.

I think moto forums around the world will be quiet for a couple of months though with everyone playing Playstation!!!

Well Im back off to play some more Reflex online!!!

Aaryn234 10:16 pm December 27th 2009

Yeah finished all the SX and MX series the day i got it, now just plugging through the rest of it. Online is to much fun plays alright online, Your own rider is fine, just the opposition is just a little all over the place so your not sure when you are about to be taken out lol. DIRT 2 is a lot better online but it is not bikes!

As soon as i can get Annie to go watch this Glee Marathon in the bedroom ill be back online

Alex Gobert 10:35 pm December 27th 2009

I’ll have to get some extra practice in and hop online for a race then! I’m just on Supercross Series 3 now, had to go through the LCQ in round one cos I got a bit loose on the Blaze 450 haha.

I’ve been playing for a while now, but I don’t play the career section the whole time. I’m starting to like the reflex part of the game, it’s cool. Really like it when the track gets a few ruts and you can get in them and rail the corner.

So Aaryn got some pace eh Doova??? Haha I need to get it set up online as soon as I finish this SX series.

SHOW51 4:12 pm December 28th 2009

The game is definatley a challenge compared to previous years. Ive had some private sledging matches with friends about this game.

I agree with most people the more you play the more we like it just so many crashes lucky my guy wears a ASTARS neck brace

Alex Gobert 9:02 pm December 28th 2009

I’m out camping at the moment (thank god for wireless broadband!), but can’t wait to get back into it when I get home haha.

Aaryn234 10:26 pm December 28th 2009

Once you get a feel for the controls it is the best MX/SX game ever made by a long way, hitting all the rytham sections on the SX tracks feels great. Then playing online taking your time on a sand track to dig a massive hole in the first corner so Doova hits it the next lap around. LOL that was 17 seconds well spent!

Then doing that 56sec lap on sugar ridge to catch back up only to hit a pole and loose it all again lol.

Dam back at work tomorrow so not so much game time for awhile!

Alex Gobert 9:25 am December 29th 2009

Haha on all the MX v ATV games I have only ever liked the Supercross, but in this one I actually don’t mind the Motocross cos the tracks are good and it’s sick how they get rougher as the race goes on. What are some of your lap times on the tracks Az?? You ride Lites or 450s more? Haha. I’ll post mine when I get home!

Aaryn234 7:40 pm December 29th 2009

I would have to check lap times, Sugar Ridge is 56.7sec, i know that one lol. When you add friends online you can check your times and theirs. only lap times done while racing online count by the looks of it though.

Alex Gobert 10:22 am December 30th 2009

I’ll be home this afternoon so I’ll get on there and see how I go haha.

DOOVA930 3:14 pm January 1st 2010

Yeh I used to love SX on the other Mx vs Atv games aswel but I prefer MX on this one, SX tracks are too skinny, but are super cool when you get a rythem section dialed. Atleast now I’ve raced on some of the tracks Aaryn took me on the 1st time I was online LOL

We need some more online competitors.

Aaryn, are you using any cheats??? I was playing the other night online and there was one guy that was way faster then everyone else, seemed to not crash when tagging tuff blocks and other racers aswell

Alex Gobert 3:45 pm January 1st 2010

Bombshell: Az caught cheating on MX v ATV Reflex haha. I’ll try set mine up online this afternoon! I played that Sugar Ridge and can only get 59 but not consistent at all lol, need to keep practicing! What about that Stone Point 1 SX (I think it is called that)? Have only done a 1:06 so far lol off the pace. Also, that last track with the ramps I did a 2:06 so far, but got a lot left in that cos I had a few crashes on my hot lap lol.

Aaryn234 9:21 pm January 1st 2010

Nah not using any cheats Doova, i am getting quicker and quicker every time i play spent some big hours over the last couple of days, high 30 and low 40 weather forcing me indoors!

Done a 30 lap race on sugar ridge, try doing a lap under 1minute after 5 laps on that track impossible!

Found a site that runs online comps, mxonlinetournements.com i joined up the last race they ran was on stonepoint 1 and the winner finished 20 laps on a 250cc two stroke (that was the class they were running) in 20 min 43 seconds so averageing 1 min 2 seconds a lap. a tried and finished just over 23 minutes first time on a 250 by the end of the race i was doing 1.01 lap times. best on a 450 is just over 1 minute i think. best online is 1.02.

Raced every SX track twice over online straight on new years eve (finished work at 12 and annie and Elysia were out) won half the races stone point 2 i nearly always win, love that track and everyone else struggles.

Aaryn234 9:33 pm January 1st 2010

Also got a point where i can rail corner and knock off half the bales with out crashing, i used to hate when people would do that to me in Untamed but funny now i can do it lol

SHOW51 10:38 pm January 1st 2010

Knocking off bales round corners might call you the reflex REED.

Just threw down a 1:12:92 @ stone point 2 wondering where this stacks up

Alex Gobert 11:38 pm January 1st 2010

Ha Reflex Reedy! lol. Must be some fast dudes online. I’m down to a 1:10.2 on on Stone Point 2, but still got a couple seconds there I reckon. Still get a bit loose on my “good” laps at least somewhere. I haven’t done more than a three lap race yet…does the track keep getting rougher and rougher??? lol. I can’t stand the swapper AI riders when they punt you, pain in the neck!

Aaryn234 9:07 am January 2nd 2010

Go arcade mode and to a 10-20 lap race at sugar ridge that place gets nasty. That sand section at Stone point 1 after 5 laps gets nasty but then after 10 laps every one has gone through the same line on the left hand side so many times the track gets down to a hard surface and a widish flat line gets created and your lap times get faster.

Stone point 1 is probably the best track to get quicker on as the laps go by, track actually develops small ruts in corners and up the faces of jumps. The last time i raced there there was a perfect arc up the face of the first tripple where everyone was scrubbing up the face.

Alex Gobert 12:27 pm January 2nd 2010

I added you online, Aaryn. I have only got into an online race twice, it usually gets stuck on joining session for some reason. You do the public one or private? What’s your name on the PS3 Doova???

Aaryn234 2:51 pm January 2nd 2010

Yeah have a heap of trouble sometimes trying to get online, new years eve i almost gave up trying to get online, then after about two hours (Persistant much!) i got that great run of about 16 races before it froze again.

If your looking for Doova its easy DOOVA930, setting up private sessions is the way to go if you can get a few people, no problems with loading and no rider Lag from other riders so you actually know when you are going to collide not just randomly get hit.

DOOVA930 7:11 pm January 2nd 2010

Yeh the other computer riders are such a pain, I hate when you get a good start and get clear then all of a sudden, one comes out of the bushes just to T-Bone you, I have sworn once or twice :)

The gnarliest track of them all is Sandwick, do 5 laps around there without crashing and your doing good, I can hardly even ride it on the 3rd lap

Private sessions are the best, its just hard to get everyone on at the same time

Alex Gobert 10:24 am January 3rd 2010

Best racing online last night with Aaryn and Doova!!! Haha that’s the most fun I’ve had on the Playstation since I was about 14 I reckon lol. On each round of the AMA series (say Saturday night Aussie time) we should do our own online series with a heat race or two just to warm up and then a 20 lap main event, that would be sick.

krusty74 10:48 am January 3rd 2010

only got a xbox 360… guess I better go get me a ps3 now

Alex Gobert 11:22 am January 3rd 2010

Haha yeah, you should! Just say it’s for the kids lol. The game is on Xbox too, but we can’t race online against eachother on different systems.

AshleyR1 7:06 pm January 3rd 2010

game is pretty good. I wish they could have licenced the other manufacturers….not just KTM. Picky….I know.

Im playing on pro. I feel like a cheat if i start on an easier level. Im about 1/4 complete. Online mode later this week.

Alex Gobert 10:03 pm January 3rd 2010

Nice one, mate. You’ll have to come on and race once you get it going. I had a tough night tonight, off the pace and kept crashing haha. Let us know when you are on, my user name is AG23.

elroy71 6:15 pm January 4th 2010

Im in!! Look for the dude outta control with the throttle on the stopper

Alex Gobert 8:25 pm January 4th 2010

Haha add me on the Playstation Network and let’s race!

Alex Gobert 6:09 pm January 6th 2010

Down to a 1:08.2 on Stone Point 2 SX, but still got a bit left in me. Still keep crashing out online haha. Doova is on the gas!

DOOVA930 7:39 pm January 6th 2010

I think the best thing about this game is that Lap times dont really count as much as other games have before, for anyone that has raced online, its more about consistancy, especially with the ruts and track changing lap after lap, and getting out of the 3rd or 4th corner in a good position. So many times you see the guy end up 4th or 5th with the fastest lap of the moto.

Im with everyone else Aaryn, Stone Point 2 SUX ASS, LOL

My favourites are Moto 448 for MX and Fort Dodge 2 for SX

I played Elroy the other night, he's haulin on a 2 smoker, cmon people join up online, its awesome fun

PS. Im out for some more Reflex action :D

Alex Gobert 8:06 pm January 6th 2010

Hahaha I knew that you liked Fort Dodge 2 when you kept playing it online!!!

Aaryn234 5:42 pm January 7th 2010

Yeah you caught me off guard last night on 448 Doova that is also one of my favorite tracks, but couldnt pull it together last night, Have run a 1.14 around there. Young lad on the Yami was quick on the 448 look a like track, he was out by 20 seconds after the first lap but just managed to run him down.

Think i was the take out King last night.

Alex Gobert 11:10 am January 8th 2010

Haha good racing again last night, you missed out Aaryn. Elroy was online again on his two smoker having a dip, Doova was the man once again. So who is better, Doova or Aaryn??? lol

Alex Gobert 2:04 pm January 8th 2010

Looks like there are some new tracks released: http://us.thq.com/us/game/show/5742/MX%20vs%20ATV%20Reflex%20-%20Track%20Pack%201

Anybody know how to download them???

Alex Gobert 2:35 pm January 8th 2010

Official press release from THQ America:

THQ Inc. today announced that the first downloadable content (DLC) pack for MX vs. ATVTM ReflexTM is now available on Xbox LIVE® for 400 Microsoft Points and PlayStation® Network for $4.99.

The next MX vs. ATV Reflex DLC pack is scheduled for release in February, and will deliver more intense off-road action with new tracks, environments and gear.

elroy71 4:27 pm January 8th 2010

Was fun last night. I cant get the hang of the supercross…. got my arse wiped
Outdoors seems to work better for me.

This game is fun as hell but is damn frustrating some times!!

Dig it

elroy71 4:35 pm January 8th 2010

How good does the new “Headshake Hills” track look!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtxPBUm8YdU&feature=channel

dan297 5:56 pm January 8th 2010

From the moment I first played this game I have been addicted

Online is by far the best specially when racing against friends and i dare say im getting good at the game

Alex Gobert 11:48 pm January 8th 2010

Can’t wait for the new tracks! Although I still need to get the current ones sorted lol.

Okay guys, let’s name a time for Sunday afternoon or night to have round one of the series to celebrate to AMA Supercross opener. We’ll start with two five lap heat races just to warm up and then do a 20 lap (if you can do that many online) main event (all on the same track for these three particular races).

If we can agree to a time, track and anything else we need then it’s on and we’ll try to continue through at least the first three races of the season (maybe more if you want to do all the Reflex SX tracks), keeping a points tally here on MotoOnline.

Who’s in? Give us an idea what time you can play and what track you want and we’ll go from there. Tell your mates to get online and sign up to MotoOnline if they want to be in our little series if we can get it organised.

I think it’s a limit of eight riders in the private sessions, so first guys in are confirmed if we can get a group together.

DOOVA930 12:09 am January 9th 2010

It would be cool to (if theres more then 8 people keen) to have heat races to qualify (might get a bit confusing) then a 20 lapper as the main, or 2×10 lappers, anyway Im in and good to go after 8pm most nights, and Fort Dodge 2 as the 1st race :D

troythreesix 7:58 am January 9th 2010

Hey Al, I’m Keen for Sunday night… bring on Fort Dodge 2!!
My online username is just troythreesix

Alex Gobert 11:47 am January 9th 2010

We got three so far, get grimdog in on the action. Then we will get Aaryn, Dan and Elroy. Plus after that we will try to get iKapture and that is eight. Or, if you know anyone else then get them in here. After there is more than eight I’m not really sure what to do cos it’s hard to communicate on the PS Network!

RD1 PROVISIONAL SCHEDULE:
Date - Sunday, 10 January 2010
Time - 8:15pm (if anyone wants a later time then let me know)

4. TBA
5. TBA
6. TBA
7. TBA
8. TBA

Entrants must be members on MotoOnline.com.au and the first eight will be confirmed. Upon entering state your username and you will be added as a friend on the Playstation Network by AG23 or Doova930. Either one of us will host the games and invite at the scheduled start time. The official MotoOnline tournament is for PS3 plays at this stage. Bar banging and take outs are essential! ;-)

elroy71 12:39 pm January 9th 2010

Im in.

Hey Alex, is the start time 8:15pm NSW time zone?

Alex Gobert 2:15 pm January 9th 2010

Yep, sorry. NSW time! :)

dan297 2:24 pm January 9th 2010

Alex put down uberfragger and Aaryn 234 if you could please. We are both keen

this is a really good idea

Alex Gobert 5:21 pm January 9th 2010

Will do mate, no worries!

UPDATED PROVISIONAL ENTRY LIST AS OF 6.00pm on 9 JANUARY (first eight confirmed are in):
1. AG23
2. Doova930
3. troythreesix
4. elroy71
5. dan297 (uberfragger)
6. Aaryn234
7. grimdog
8. TBA

If we get more than eight I am considering running two series, split in half for the season and then at the end we'll have a winner takes all final race between the top four (if we have that many) of each title in an eight man race decided by vote - kind of like the AMA East and West coast Lites classes. Or, if you have any ideas if we get more than eight then let it be known. However, until we do get more than eight we have nothing to worry about! Can't wait.

Timmy 64 5:29 pm January 9th 2010

Hey guys ill be off to buy the game tomorrow. so ill be up for it!

Alex Gobert 5:44 pm January 9th 2010

You all set up on the Playstation Network Timmy??? Just asking cos a mate of mine was trying to get on the other day and he was having a bit of trouble for some reason. Let us know your user name on there and I’ll put you in the line up mate! You better get practicing haha.

Timmy 64 5:58 pm January 9th 2010

Yeah all set up ill add you as a friend in a minute. should have game tomorrow.

troythreesix 10:35 pm January 9th 2010

Would anyone mind if we started at 9??

dan297 12:50 am January 10th 2010

Cheers alex

Cant wait going to be good fun

Alex Gobert 7:58 am January 10th 2010

We will have to start at our scheduled time sorry mate cos not everybody will get on here to double check on a Sunday. Race day is here!

Alex Gobert 12:10 pm January 10th 2010

FINAL INSTRUCTIONS
* We will meet online tonight at 8.15pm NSW time and I will invite all to the room for the night’s proceedings.

* As per above, we will do 2 x five lap heat races for practice, before the 20 lap main event commences.

* We will organise rounds throughout the season at all the MX v ATV SX tracks to decide the series champion, not necessarily every single week, but when we can agree to a time and date.

* Note that if any of us lose our internet connection during the final then we will be scored with last place points just to be fair and at least keep them in the points.

* If the host (me) is kicked out during the session, then let me know the final results afterwards.

Good luck!

dan297 12:42 pm January 10th 2010

Alex you have organised this well good on you mate

this series will be good i cant wait to get it started
the practice is great so we get a feel for the track and the main event will be full or bar banging action

what track are we racing tonight??

VinnyB 1:54 pm January 10th 2010

I love this game, I am on XBOX and it rocks

Timmy 64 3:15 pm January 10th 2010

just went and got the game. i need some serious practise lol.

Alex Gobert 3:26 pm January 10th 2010

Haha so you in Timmy? That's eight lined up for tonight's event. Get practicing!

Dan, it's Fort Dodge 2 (edited, accidently wrote Stone Point 2 earlier, doh!) for tonight - Doova's favourite haha.

I think it's going to be a fight for survival rather than who is the fastest. A few crashes in one lap could lose around 20 seconds!

dan297 3:53 pm January 10th 2010

Doova and I had our fair share of battles at stone point 2 and hes quick there

the tip is once hes in front don’t let him run away with it cause he wont look back

Timmy 64 4:08 pm January 10th 2010

yeah im in hahaha it will be funny when everyones lapping me.

Timmy 64 4:16 pm January 10th 2010

what about sbk 09, any of you guys got the game? not sure what the online is like but?

Alex Gobert 4:23 pm January 10th 2010

I don’t have it mate, just a Reflex fan right now haha. Only other game I’ve played online is F1.

Grimdog39 4:24 pm January 10th 2010

i been practicing all day just so i can take out doova in the first turn, its gonna be pretty rough track after bought 8 laps then i reckon it will be who ever can not crash there brains out…

Timmy 64 4:27 pm January 10th 2010

ok then no worrys you will have to get it for sure.

DOOVA930 4:57 pm January 10th 2010

Hahaha the Anaheim excitment is over and its all about the Reflex excitment now!!!!! LOL

Hopefully Uberfragger has been practicing all day at Stone Point 2 haha

Alex Gobert 4:59 pm January 10th 2010

No pressure Doova, but you’re entering tonight’s opening round of the MotoOnline.com.au Super Reflex Series as the red hot favourite! Grimdog is gunning after Doova, Aaryn is the wildcard and Dan will be on the gas. As for me, I’ll be loose as ever and hope not to get lapped during the 20 lap main (keep it on two wheels pleaseeee)!

Alex Gobert 5:00 pm January 10th 2010

Hhahaha oooops I meant Fort Dodge 2 as per the above provisional schedule!!!! Sorry uber!!! I always get them two confused for some reason!

DOOVA930 5:04 pm January 10th 2010

Geez THE PRESSURE!!!!!!!!! hahahahaha

I think Im more nervous racing Reflex online then a real race

Grimdog39 5:09 pm January 10th 2010

whats everyones best time at fort dodge need to gauge my speed to see how slow i am???

Alex Gobert 5:10 pm January 10th 2010

You should be man we are gunning for you, Grimdog wants to take you down and I just want to beat you for once lol. Aaryn and Uberfragger are going to be fast no doubt. Troy is an unknown, never seen him race, and elroy will be charging on the two-smoker as ever haha.

Grimdog39 5:11 pm January 10th 2010

doova is a marked man lets see if he can pull it off…!!!

Alex Gobert 5:15 pm January 10th 2010

I have seen Doova do a 1:32, my best is a low 1:36 so off the pace. I would be pumped if I could run under the 1:40 mark for 20 straight laps, but unfortunately it ain’t gonna happen.

Grimdog39 5:17 pm January 10th 2010

shit im way off the pace then im runnin 1:40’s 1:41’s

Aaryn234 5:18 pm January 10th 2010

We after watcing A1 i am trying to decide if i take the Suk or the Yami out, Maybe even the Honda would be good for a podium at least, staying away from Green this weekend. Unless it was a lites race of course.

waiting for the news to finish so i can get my practice on, fort Doge tracks dont rough up as much as most. If your getting lapped dont forget it is your job to take down the leader in a fair way, if he passes you then runs high in the corner take him down and run. Dont forget it is embarrising getting lapped so do all you can to stay on the lead lap.

P.s It is not embarrising to be lapped my me, its part of life so let me through LOL.

Alex Gobert 5:21 pm January 10th 2010

Haha I’m just going to ride smart for round one and see where I end up. The pressure is on Doova and Aaryn, I might do a Dungey haha. Timmy might do a Stroupe considering he only got the game this afternoon!

Timmy 64 5:44 pm January 10th 2010

haha yeah only track ive raced on is stonepoint 1. and only had about three races all up. give me a couple of weeks and i should be up to speed. ill give it a shot tonight tho.

elroy71 5:56 pm January 10th 2010

Ive been running in a brand spanking Shima 450. Might shelve the 2 banga for the big event. Playing the wild card

dan297 6:05 pm January 10th 2010

Alex says: Hhahaha oooops I meant Fort Dodge 2

thats an absolute ball breaker alex lol

its ok im good at fort dodge 2…..doova better watch out…you guys are lucky i was running 1 min flats at stonepoint 2 lol

Grimdog39 6:10 pm January 10th 2010

ive changed all my gear in hopes that this will make me go faster in some way, i think im just gonna be a back marker an ride real wide…

Alex Gobert 6:13 pm January 10th 2010

Hahaha we will do Stone Point 2 for the next round to make up for it if you like mate, my bad! Let’s hope it all runs smooth and to plan (you never know with this Playstation Network lol).

dan297 6:34 pm January 10th 2010

hahah doesnt bother me alex its all good was an honest mistake

im ready tho so bring on 7:45 adelaide time :)

and a 1,2 for SA aye Aaryn lol

Aaryn234 8:58 pm January 10th 2010

I crossed the line as the game finished smack bang on a minute behind, i was a minute behind after about 8 laps, got back to within 28 seconds then lost it all again. the one race i dont get a good start! LOL

Timmy 64 9:00 pm January 10th 2010

need some serious practise. just not fit enough for 20 laps haha. hopefully be up to speed by next rnd

Haha that was sick, glad it all went well for the first time we've done it! Any suggestions just put them in here if you want less laps or a different format or whatever. Thanks for joining in guys and tell your friends so we can build up and even bigger series because I have a few plans if we get more guys than we can use in the one race.

elroy71 9:15 pm January 10th 2010

That track was outta control after about 10 laps. I lost count how many times i cross rutted on the upramp and ended up in Row G. haha

Fun as.
Good battle AG

Grimdog39 9:18 pm January 10th 2010

hahaha that was insane but i reckon 20 laps was to long i couldnt feel my hands after that main event, ice_64 you need some serious practice you took me out like 8 time on the first 3 laps an ruined me hahaha

troythreesix 9:22 pm January 10th 2010

Spewing I missed it, will have to make up for it at rd 2

dan297 9:41 pm January 10th 2010

that was so fun

Alex Gobert 9:41 pm January 10th 2010

That track was hard hey, could hardly get through the turns and that rut before the triple was like a jump in itself when you went outside. So what’s the vote for the main event lap count for next week and the remaining rounds?

Option A: 20 laps
Option B: 15 laps
Option C: 2 x 10 laps with a combined score to make the overall

Vote here and we will decide for round two.

dan297 9:42 pm January 10th 2010

same as today definitely

it makes it more interesting when the tracks get harder

DOOVA930 10:10 pm January 10th 2010

I went for the fresh approach and didn't play PS3 all day then clicked it on at about 7.30 for some practice and rode like sh!t, I thought nah she'll be right by the time the main starts, man I sucked haha, no consistancy in the combos at all, oh well, Stone Point 2 next W/E!!!!

Elroy is definetly the Take Out King, would have been taken out 8-9 times and twice when I was lapping him LOL, let the good times roll!!!!!!

DOOVA930 10:13 pm January 10th 2010

I reckon 2×10 lappers

dan297 10:25 pm January 10th 2010

Doova that point where it went from 28 secs to 8 secs I was getting put over berms by lappers lol what fun that race was

Alex did me a favour and let me pass no worries was rather nice.

i was sweating when I knew you were second and the timer was going down

DOOVA930 10:36 pm January 10th 2010

Haha I think it got down to 4 seconds and Im like, “Im on here” lol, then obviously I would run into the same lappers, or get run into haha, I was getting so frustrated, that rythm section after the finish line I can usually nail it 8or9 times out of 10 but tonight it would have been about 3-4 out of 10, oh well its done and dusted now.

Hopefully next week we will have enough guys to do 2-3 heats to qualify for the main and an LCQ haha

PS. Man this is a long post LOL

dan297 10:46 pm January 10th 2010

yeah I couldn’t get the triple after that rhythm section i had to double in and then triple out was quite un-orthodox

Alex Gobert 10:48 pm January 10th 2010

It was a tough race, really made us focus but to be honest when the 20 was over I was kinda disappointed it was finished! If you’re up front then 20 laps would feel like forever, but if you’re trying to come through the pack like Aaryn was then 20 feels like its going pretty fast I reckon.

The best thing is that we’ve got a whole heap of tracks to go and it looks like this championship battle is going to be tight all the way through. For those who didn’t race tonight, we will open up the entries for round two this week in a new thread and you can enter there. Doova and I will work out how we can host it properly if we get more entries.

Doova, once the real deal community is up and running in a couple of weeks then the forum posts will go to page 2 etc so we don’t have to scroll down so far to get to the latest post. Good to see more motocross guys in here, who would have ever thought it would be a video game that would raise interest lol.

dan297 10:53 pm January 10th 2010

its was well organised Alex well done mate

cant wait till next round

Grimdog39 10:55 pm January 10th 2010

yeah im down for the 2 x10 lap main i got a mate who is keen as to join so that will take it to 9 total

Alex Gobert 11:25 pm January 10th 2010

Currently two votes for 2 x 10 lappers and one vote for 1 x 20 lapper. What about you other guys?

Alex Gobert 11:45 pm January 10th 2010

Regarding what happens if we get more players, I saw that it seems to lag if you have more than seven or eight players, so we will work out exactly what we can do to make it fit for expansion so it stays fun for everybody and we have a good series for all whether they are fast or still getting the hang of it.

Considering we are limited by the lag problems (even in the private rooms) according to many on the official site, I think if we structured it like the real Lites series in America then it could work best no matter how many players we get.

For example, I could host one series while Doova hosts another and then if it expands then we can get another host - eight riders in each series. Once the series wrap up then we could have a Race of Champions event (or a few) featuring the top guys from each series to determine the best of the best.

The reason I think we would need to do it this way is because having a heat race, lcq and main event would make it hard if we got a lot of riders. Just say we had 15 riders and three heats, only a couple riders or so would have the ability to transfer through to the main via each heat. Plus, it would be pretty hard to organise via the PS Network I would say!

We’ll see what happens hey!

dan297 11:50 pm January 10th 2010

i rekon what we do is have 2x 10 lap heats top 4 overall out of the 2 make it into a main event run by Alex

And doova starts one and does the same with the top 4 qualifying for the main event that is run by alex

if you dont qualify top 8 bad luck really better put in some more practice

Alex Gobert 12:13 am January 11th 2010

We need to think about it and work it out, get it on a set plan and run with it. I'll have a think, I like the sounds of what you said, just gotta work out some hurdles that it would have if we were to get certain ammounts of entries. I've never been the best at maths lol.

dan297 2:53 am January 11th 2010

yeah i see how it can get awkward when/if we need 3 series running, but hey we will tackle that obstacle as the numbers increase rider wise

BONE 9:34 am January 11th 2010

Bone thinks your all nerds.

but at least your being interactive nerds on the forum!! haha!!!! just messin with ya.

bone may be a tad jealous as im still playign Excitebike on Original Nintendo. Pressin the ‘B’ Button to go super fast and hit the triangular shaped jumps whilst dodgin the oil spills lol

DOOVA930 10:50 am January 11th 2010

Haha Bone, your a crack head, but I friggin love ya hahaha

If we get enough for 2 seperate heats, I think we should have 2 qualifying races, then have an A and B grade final. It might make it hard for the championship standing but does it really matter??? Maybe award the B-grade final half points or something??

I think 10 laps is heaps, I think that everyone has pretty much sorted there position out by then and then in the 20 lapper we’re just circulating for another 10 laps, seems sort of pointless, it would be cool if you were bar to bar with someone for 20 but I doubt that will happen, did anyone actually gain a position after the 8th lap?????

dan297 11:29 am January 11th 2010

I was lapping in the 8th lap lol

And Doova yes the points matter but im only saying this cause im winning lol

lets just not do points anymore and just say i won hahaha lol :)

Alex Gobert 12:07 pm January 11th 2010

Haha shut up Boner, you should get a PS3 and come race so we can smoke ya.

Alex Gobert 12:08 pm January 11th 2010

How does this sound? I quickly put this together and I suck at maths, so give me a break if it doesn't make sense or add up!

NOTES:
* From 17 entries and higher, the main events will expand to nine riders for mathematical reasons. The overall limit for the series will be capped at 24 riders in total, with a waiting list structure for individual rounds implemented should it be required.

* Riders will be placed in their heats starting from the bottom of the points table accordingly, taking every second rider and placing them in their heats, before placing every third rider in their heats accordingly once we expand to three heats if we have over 16 entries. If riders are yet to score points then their heats will be decided by alphabetical order using their MotoOnline.com.au screen name.

* Upon announcing what heat riders are in, we will also announce the hosts for each heat via their PS Network username. All riders who are contesting the series must add all of our hosts (to be announced) as friends on the PS Network in order to be invited to the events.

* Main event hosts will be decided after the heat races are completed, with the host inviting the top riders to the main events.

* Riders must be online and signed in at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the heats in order top be invited to the games with no delays.

* Heat races will be eight laps in duration, main events 15 laps.

* Riders who do not make the main event will not score points for the round, so push hard to make the big show!

BONE 1:21 pm January 11th 2010

i might start a run away competition myself, something cooler than what ever you guys have.

Bone might even contact the game company and bar you guys from accessing one of the tracks just to piss you off.
ouch!! sound familiar to our road racers?

least mine has a locked in schedule and all of its shit near sorted i guess lolhaha jk. i couldnt give a shit.

you can play whatever competition you wanna play in. haha.. (what am i talking about again? lol)
and yeah your right doova, i am a crack head… i love it! crack pipes and cherry ripes!!

hahahahaaaa

Alex Gobert 1:47 pm January 11th 2010

Lol these guys probably have no idea what you are talking about! Now, back to our series. Get a PS3 and race Bone, you know you want to!

dan297 1:51 pm January 11th 2010

Bone you successfully succeeded in confusing me lol well done

And Alex that's great the set up you have that is definitely the go

BONE 2:24 pm January 11th 2010

haha, ithought i might… it was a shot at aussie road racing!!

lol.

i might be trippin, but Bone still be flippin.

Aaryn234 2:35 pm January 11th 2010

Heats sound good, but will the heats be Seaded?

Heat 1: Riders ranked 1-4-7 in series + filled with random allocation
Heat 2 Riders Ranked 2-5-8 in series + Filled with random allocation
Heat 3 Rider Ranked 3-6-9 in series + Filler with Random allocation

Or if just two heats
Heat 1 Rider ranked 1-3-5-7-9 + Filled with random allocation
Heat 2 Rider Ranked 2-4-6-8-10 + Filled with Random allocation.

Also If 2 heats the should be a Main and B Main
Top 8 rider to main - Rider in Main get scored from 1-8th so 25-22-20-18-16-15-14-13
Remaining race into B main scored from 9th-16th so 12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5

That way even if you have a bad heat you still can score points

Same if you have to go to three heats, but still only to mains
Top 3 from each heat into main scored 1-9th

Next 3 into B main scored 10-18th

everyone else misses out till next round

Heats 10 laps
Both Mains 20 Laps

20 laps is better as some riders get better with ruts forming.

I found that rytham section after the start easier after it got rough lol. Nice rut formed on the inside so i would double in, hit that first table top launch and then do the small set of tripples straight into the big tripple.

Or if i came up short from launching the first table it would be jump off the second table then single out of the small tripple double the big tripple the launch out. so many more lines when rough.

Stone point 1 is a quicker track when ruts form.

DOOVA930 2:54 pm January 11th 2010

Yeh I agree with Aaryn (except the laps), I think there needs to be an A and B grade final, if you have a bad heat, theres no LCQ, so you need to get some points somehow

Alex Gobert 3:06 pm January 11th 2010

I like the plans for the seeded heat races as you have suggested Aaryn, but you guys don’t think it would be hard to sort all the B-Mains via the PS Network’s brilliant communication features? ;-)

I’m all for it as long as we are confident we can get it happening consistently without too much confusion (especially if we had enough for three heats). We could make it work as long as there was some speedy communication between the hosts in between races so we know who to invite, etc. Would also have to make sure the hosts are on it when noting the results from their specific heats.

Also, once I put the official information up for round two, I’ll only mention the two heat structure and then at least this way we have the structure in place ready to go should we get more than 16 entries somehow.

dan297 3:28 pm January 11th 2010

I dont think there should be a B class cause thats just over complicating everything

Like i said earlier if you dont qualify go practice and come back next week

Chad Reed didnt get a B race at A1 did he lol

Alex Gobert 3:38 pm January 11th 2010

Haha, love a good debate. You know, so the guys who do make the main event don’t gain too many points in the series and stretch out massive leads, we could make it 10 points to win and then minus a point for every position lower in the main event. Plus, from each heat we could give the guys who just missed out on the main event by one position a single point bonus, just like the Racer X Gas Card lol. Keep debating and we’ll come up with a resolution.

dan297 3:44 pm January 11th 2010

10 points and 1 down sounds good to me

Aaryn234 6:42 pm January 11th 2010

B main would not be to hard to organise, Might just mead the A final is held a little later, If you can work out who the top 3 or four are in each heat working out the next 3 or 4 wont be hard.

Not going to be any harder to orgainse the B main than the A main and its the only fair way to keep people in the points chase.

Maybe a comprimise in laps, 8 lap heats 15 lap mains. I was still batteling for 3rd 4th and 5th and was a minute off the lead after 8 laps, after 16 i was down to 28 seconds off the lead and in clear 3rd. i like the longer races. Go 15

Timmy 64 7:55 pm January 11th 2010

Yeah all sounds pretty good. what times should i be looking at doing for the next rnd. I should have a bit of speed by then i hope :)

dan297 7:57 pm January 11th 2010

if we do go the A and B there better be a big difference in points otherwise its pointless because if a person in B's wins and gets the same amount of points as the person who wins A's that a bit silly

heres an idea A's top 8 can get 25 and down like now
B's bottom 8 points get 10 and down like proposed above then its fair and you will take some points and not empty handed

feel free to shoot it down in anyway possible im just throwing some ideas out there

Alex Gobert 8:34 pm January 11th 2010

Timmy, at this weekend’s track Ive seen anywhere from 1:06 to 1:15 beind done.

Final series structure will be posted on Wednesday in the official thread for round two and I’ll be taking all of the feedback above into consideration. Most likely A and B finals similar to what Aaryn said above - same point structure and all.

Now, go and tell you mates! I’ve already had a few more confirmations for round two and the remainder of the series.

DOOVA930 8:35 pm January 11th 2010

Yeh Dan (by the way, whats an uberfragger??), the A final would have top points like Aaryn said before. We want it to grow anyway, imagine if it got to the stage of 100 people in it and only 8 could qualify?? Definetly need A and B final

The A and B final wouldn’t be too hard, each host only needs to remember the top 3 or 4, then if AG rings the host to find out who got through, he can do all the workings out, then reinvite everyone who quals to there game

Yeh Aaryn, thats my point about the laps, I finished 12 sec behind Uber and you finished 40sec behind me, so pretty much the last 10-12 laps were people just circulating (if your catching what Im throwing??)

dan297 9:12 pm January 11th 2010

im catching the curveball

thats good that the points will be different so A and B sounds good then because if there the same im gonna scrub and race B's and get my 25 points lol

Doova its just a random name mate was gonna change it but was already level 21 online so didn't bother and sorry about not joining your game I was playing against a mate and couldn't join

@ alex my best is a 1:01.8 with 1:08 as an average

Aaryn234 9:35 pm January 11th 2010

1:01 Pooop, im good for 1 1:05 with around a 1:08 average, need to find four seconds on a small track!

Mxonlinetournaments started with just 24 racers on untamed!

DOOVA930 9:38 pm January 11th 2010

My best is a 1.02 with an average of 1.02 ;) LOL (I wish)

Timmy 64 9:43 pm January 11th 2010

ok thanks guys. ill try and find some time to practise!

dan297 10:04 pm January 11th 2010

mind you that 1:01 was scrubbing all the jumps and staying on the track in the process which for me is very rare

iKapture 1:14 am January 12th 2010

OK, count me in for what ever format you can come up with…

Where is the next round going to be held?

Alex Gobert 10:03 am January 12th 2010

Sounds awesome, good to have you guys in iKap!

We’ll be racing at Stone Point 2 this weekend, but I haven’t even turned the game on since getting smoked last weekend lol.

1:01, geeeeeeez my best is 1:07 around that joint! Including my crashes I probably have an average of 1:20!!!

Grimdog39 4:33 pm January 12th 2010

yeah im with on that one gobert my average is bout 1:18 to 1:20 ive turned a few laps today an i aint gettin any better…

dan297 8:50 pm January 12th 2010

Random Question am i the only one that plays in first person camera or do other people do aswell???

doubleh 9:31 pm January 12th 2010

Hey guys, im keen to play, tried playing a bit online, but not too much luck finding many people to race.
Username is hhmx
cheers

DOOVA930 10:55 pm January 12th 2010

Yeh your in my friends HH,but I didn’t know it was you, I’ve invited you a couple of times to play but you haven’t come in????, We had some issues tonight with one of the other guys not being able to enter our game, the PS Online Play isn’t the most consistant thing on the planet

Alex Gobert 11:04 pm January 12th 2010

Hey Dan, I don’t play first person - no way! Haha. That’s sick.

HH, add me at AG23 as well, I don’t think you’re on my list. Entry details for round two will be going up tomorrow.

Hope we don’t have any issues with the PS Network during the series ahhhhh.

Good racing tonight Doova, sorry to you and Az when I was a bit loose haha. Took off at Manchester 1 that time though lol.

dan297 11:07 pm January 12th 2010

ahk I must just be weird then lol

Grimdog39 11:55 pm January 12th 2010

dan i cant believe you play first person that is heck, im flat out playing it normal hahaha

Alex Gobert 12:33 am January 13th 2010

For those wondering why the link to the '2010 SX Reflex Series Rd2 Information' thread that's shown in the Forum Activity box isn't working, I'm not exactly sure why just yet. But our web guys are working will be working to fix it today.

In the meantime, here is the correct link so you guys can see the set up for round two:
http://www.motoonline.com.au/2010/01/13/2010-sx-reflex-series-rd2-information/

Sorry for any hassles!

dan297 11:27 am January 13th 2010

I tried first person once for fun and never went back to the user camera lol

Alex Gobert 12:52 pm January 13th 2010

If anyone has an X Box and wants to run a tournament under the same MotoOnline series format that we have developed here then just let me know. If there is enough interest from you guys then I don’t mind if you run it via our forums in the same structure, but you will have to work your own hosts etc out because I don’t have the system. We will make the decision if we get at least eight guys who want it up and running.

Timmy 64 8:54 pm January 13th 2010

I cant believe how much im struggling on this game! its so hard. i dont no what im doing wrong? whenever there is a jump real close to the exit of the turns i seem to jump straight off the side?

DOOVA930 9:11 pm January 13th 2010

It is heaps hard Timmy, I’ve been playing flat out for nearly 3 weeks and I still go flying off the track, its so frustrating sometimes, just start using the left joystick to get around and try to keep some momentum, when you get more comfortable start using the right joystick more. My son is only 4, and he doesn’t even use the right joystick and still gets around ok until he starts telling you a story and crashes his brains out.

Dont forget to use your brakes either

dan297 11:58 pm January 13th 2010

Timmy when your free lets get online and I’ll give you a few tips and stuff if you want

homedad 7:53 am January 14th 2010

I can’t promise to make the races but i am up for some practice
PSN : homedad

Timmy 64 1:30 pm January 14th 2010

yeah i think ive been using to much reflex or (trying to anyway) can do sub 1:10 rnd stonepoint 2

Alex Gobert 10:22 pm January 14th 2010

Welcome to the site homedad, add me on the PS Network (AG23) and we’ll get racing when I see ya online!

Bird57 10:21 pm January 15th 2010

TIMMY 64 you might be usuing too much reflex not sure 1;03 is possible rnd stonepoint 2 tho,for me anyway lol

dan297 10:20 am January 16th 2010

bird57 i got a 1:01.6 as my best time

Got my average for 30 laps under 1:10 so doing pretty good

Timmy 64 10:52 am January 16th 2010

i think gobert might need to change bike after last nights racing! the old clutch got a hammering lol you know when he is close, the thing is on the limiter thru the turns. anybody else use much clutch? i dont use it all really. i was reading a few other forums and some think it helps a fair bit?

Alex Gobert 10:54 am January 16th 2010

Haha I just hold it pinned and keep the clutch in!!! Was some good racing last night, I just couldn’t keep it together. You were going sick Timmy, Doova said no more tips for you lol.

Timmy 64 12:19 pm January 16th 2010

Yeah haha i just cant use the clutch my brain just cant work that many buttons! yeah i was strugglen then it has just clicked, found some speed finally! last night was some very good racing.

dan297 12:38 pm January 16th 2010

Timmy you don’t have to worries bout valves in a games so just bash on them like crazy

Im on the limiter constantly lol
