Okay guys, I've got a question I want to run by you.
We started this year doing the Racing Insider column on a daily basis before we incorporated a news section at a later date, so that's why we have a massive 128 editions of the Insider. But next year, because it's now a weekly column and works better that way we'll have just around 50.
So for the new year, should I go back and start at #1 or continue up from where we are at? Or, maybe a No1 Vol 02 or something. Maybe 0102 like AMCN does with its editions (now up to 5913 for Vol 59 No 13.
Ideas???

Thanks mate, that's what I reckon too. Start fresh and it'll all work itself out! Will be a lot more inspiring on 6 January to write Racing Insider #1 than some high number anyways lol. So much thought needs to go into these websites when we think about archives etc! Have a good Xmas. Thanks for the input.

I agree with the thoughts so far - start at #1 each year. Maybe prefix it with the year i.e. 2010 #1. That way it tracks each week and helps if posters/reviewers want to go back into archives. If there are industry/race shattering announcements between editions these could be 2010 #1A. Alex, will you make archived posts accessible? Perhaps a search function by content could be made available.....keep up the good work.

Yep, some good ideas there. I'm really gonna have to think of this one before 6 January when the next Insider is posted lol.
Piston, we are working on making the Search facility a little more precise, but if you type in "Racing Insider #4" for example you will get that edition to pop up in the search pretty high. Also type in "ASBK tyres" and you will get the info you need regarding the tyres from earlier posts. We are just trying to make it filter out posts that may not be exactly what you are searching for at the moment.
One other thing I want to do is make it so the archives at the bottom of the pages are done by months, rather than just by numbers. This way, you can think back to July 2009 and you will find all the news you need from that particular month rather than guessing a number and hoping it's close to what you needed!
Thanks for the feedback guys, every bit helps for sure.
