The opening round of the 2009 Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, kicked off in Launceston, Tasmania, last Saturday night, where CDR Rockstar Yamaha’s Jay Marmont scored a shock victory ahead of Woodstock Honda Thor Racing’s Dan Reardon and double AMA/World Supercross Champion Chad Reed, who made his debut for Monster Kawasaki. In the Lites it was Matt Moss who won for the Rockstar Motul Suzuki team, edging out MX RAD/JDR Motorsport’s Ryan Marmont and American young gun Kyle Cunningham in a thrilling night of action. There series will head to Geelong in Victoria for round two this weekend.
